The DiaboliServ is a package of the software useful while testing your web-pages or WWW applications. The DiaboliServ automatically configures the software which includes the Apache web server, PHP parser, MySQL database, Zend Optimizer, OpenSSL and phpMyAdmin.
After DiaboliServ installation, Apache, PHP, MySQL, Zend Optimizer and OpenSSL are correctly configured, and it is possible to check that by the test page "https://127.0.0.1/test".
To start Apache2 and MySQL services on Windows 98/Me systems restart would be necessary. Change of settings in files httpd.conf, php.ini, ssl.conf, my.ini also require Windows 98/Me systems restart.
DiaboliServ 1.6 is open on any modifications in configuration files of Apache, PHP, MySQL and OpenSSL. You should only use the config tool first, and after that manually edit configuration files. This is very important because while saving changes in configuration by config tool, the application overwrites files "httpd.conf", "php.ini", "my.ini", "ssl.conf" and the files of OpenSSL certificates.
The point of DiaboliServ is to simplify Apache, PHP, MySQL, Zend Optimizer, OpenSSL and phpMyAdmin instalation and configuration on Windows systems. The possibility of quick change those applications settings is also very important.
News from 1.6 version:
- Apache2 and MySQL services monitor in the config tool,
- Added "short_open_tags" setting in the config tool,
- Apache server's default mime type of file set as "application/octet-stream",
- Shortcut in the Start Menu to quick explore directory which is set as
"DocumentRoot" location in httpd.conf file.
